To Help Ease Elderly Loneliness In Our Community
In the UK, there are currently hundreds of thousands of senior and elderly individuals who are isolated or excluded from society and lonely, especially those who are over 75.
Over a million older adults claim they go more than a month without speaking to a friend, neighbour, or family member, and more than 2 million individuals in England over the age of 75 live alone, according to Age UK.
Floral Hearts is an independently-run charity that offers all-inclusive, practical and social floristry experiences and workshops to elderly people in care homes, community centres and community-run events across Camden, London, and eventually to wider community care groups all over the UK.
Floral Hearts workshops are tailored with both individuals and the residential care industry in mind. This means we aim to offer all local seniors and veterans and those in care communities the opportunity to get involved in our workshops and learn new skills, re-ignite their creative side and most importantly provide an environment for socialisation to help combat the loneliness that many of them have to deal with.
With your help, we can ensure that those facing exclusion and loneliness are provided with the support they deserve.
We Need You – Help us Make a Difference
Volunteers
Floral Hearts is managed on a volunteer basis by those in the local community. We are always delighted to hear from experienced care workers and people from all walks of life who simply wish to give up their time for free to ensure the well-being of the people we support- from collecting flowers from our donors to helping us with our workshops in residential care facilities, hospices and community centres.
If you’d like to volunteer your time please contact us.
Fundraising
To make this all possible we need to raise much-needed funds each year to help sustain and run our elderly support services, and we rely on your generosity to help us to continue this vital work in the communities we serve – we are the only local charity doing what we do.
Funding is crucial to providing more workshops for local nursing homes, care homes, organisations and other charities supporting the elderly.

Donations
Tons of cut flowers and flowering plants are thrown away every day, including unsold flowers from stores to make room for new stock, as well as bouquets from local events, such as weddings and shows that have finished.
Despite being declared useless or unsellable, many of these nevertheless have plenty of shelf life. We kindly encourage supermarkets, garden centres, florists and other local retailers, as well as wedding venues and other event locations in the community to support us by donating flowers, foliage, and plants so that we may continue to provide our floristry workshops to the elderly.
